Eventually it will cause harm, it's a cumulative process.
Excess of anything is always bad.
Why would you want to try?

Alcohol in moderate amounts (1-2 drinks per day) does not ruin the body, unless there is some other health problem. For a man, 1-2 drinks a day actually improves health, especially heart and blood pressure.
Red wine is especially good, b/c of the antioxidants in it.

If you want to get technical this is what is healthy and honestly recommended: 1 glass of wine or 1 shot or 1 beer anything over that is potentially harmful to your body on a daily basis.

well, when i was younger and didn't make my university from the first try i worked for 1 year at cardio research center. they were writing phds about cardio diseases and how to recouperate after stroke. so they figured out that 20 gr of nice french cognac daily helps heart working after stroke - it enlarges blood vessels and lowers the blood pressure. so daily usage of 20 gr of cognac was highly recommended (for those who could afford it). and strokes are mostly common at older age, so mostly all patients were after 40

I would say no more than two beers a day but better is not to drink at all because it is a substance you can get addicted to.
