Most people going to church feel the same way, they're just afraid to admit it, even to themselves. I commend you.
Both African and Native American spiritualities are beautiful, maybe you should research them.

Well the bedrock of Christianity now and in ancient times was Africa. Egypt and the Ethiopea were the part of teh first places where Christianity was bedded after Jesus's death, so it has been part of the continents history since its inception. As for Christianity causing destruction - no it does not in itself, as a philosphy and idelogy it is far more sublime than any other and, in the same vein, it is intellectually challenging.
As fdor native AMerican's getting detroyed by Chrsitianity. Are you from North America - in which case Christinaity didn't destroy you, the advance of capitilism did which, in light of the native American groups that bought large stocks on the NYC stcok exchange last month -0 they have bought into very well. and are actually thriving in the capitilist environment.
What would you like to do exactly, divide your ody in two. one half coul stay in america and ride horses and pray to the rain god, and the otehr half go back to Africa.
You are suffering a crisis of identity. the only thing that brings your two halves together is Christianity, yet you want nothing to do with it.
When you say you do ot believe in jesus - does that mean that you do not believe he existed, or that he was not the son of God

I think you need to decide if you're rejecting Jesus or Western Christianity.
64% of Christians world wide are of african origin and seem to find something very meaningful in Jesus (who we often forget was an ethnic minority himself).
If you're interested in giving it one last shot - why don't you hunt down a church with more ethnic diversity - read Luke's Gospel - ask God to help you to hear his voice above all the voices who have misrepresented him.
Hope you find answers to your questions - it would be such a shame if along with all the other attrocities western white church has done, it stops you from knowing the amazing person that is Jesus.

We believe because we read in the bible that we are sinners and that there is salvation through faith. Ephesians 2:8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:. We read that Jesus Christ was the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world. That means that there was a reason he was crucified and if that reason is my sin then to not repent of having done despite unto the Spirit of grace is a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation.

I do not blame you one iota.
HOWEVER, do not miss the poetry for the prose.
I am not a Christian nor do I believe in any other superstitions or mythologies. Do not look at the details. They are insignificant. It matters not if Jesus ever existed, if he walked on water or if he was the son of God if there is a god.
Look at the message "LOVE ONE ANOTHER"
That is what IS important.

It's not about believing in religion, it's about believing in Jesus. Do not let others actions force you to throw out the good with the bad. Jesus is real & He loves you, He wants you to get to know Him personally. Put your trust in Jesus, not in people who will let you down.

i see your point. it is up to you. i was raised to be in the pews everytime the door was open, and you know what? i got sick of waking up early on sunday mornings, the only day i could usually have to relax. it is a small price to pay for eternal life, i know, but after 18 years of rigorous biblical teachings and parallels, i was ready for a break. here i am now 4 years later, and as for myself, i came i saw i conquered. my religious beliefs and philosophical reasons for my faith in god is more adament and certain than it ever was while i was sitting in a pew. its not because i believe what christianity says. its because christianity agrees with me!!! you must be true to yourself and discover what you believe, apart from what others around you tell you, to be firm. i would love to see your faith in christ grow. but, i'm not going to push the issue until you are sick. like i said, be true to yourself, the faith will follow, no matter what you choose.
i still haven't been to church for months.
