I'm guessing vegeteen is a vegetable substitue for gelatin?

If so, you don't need it - in order to bind the mixture together use the yolk of one egg and a handful of breadcumbs.

I think that the passage of years has altered your memory of the recipe. A net search for "Vegeteen" reveals no product with that name. perhaps it has changed its name or been superseded by some other vegetarian cooking substance.
