I was thinking about tanning just once a week to keep a little color. What do you think? Will it still kill me or is that a decent compromise?

Yea I'm doing the Jergens daily one but I don't think it's gonna make me THAT tan. I've heard of doctors recommending tanning once a week or so? Isn't it healthy to some extent if done minimally?

I think that once a week is less harmful than everyday, or every other day. I go to the tanning salon once a week during these winter months, its a boost emotionally, and keeps my skin from getting the winter rashes.

It won't kill you :)
I assume you mean actual tanning in the sun?
It's all about the time of day you choose to go tanning, the proper use of protection when you tan and how long you actually stay in the sun. As long as you use the appropriate SPF for your skin tone and you avoid baking for hours, tanning can actually be good for you, as the sun is known to stimulate the production of pheromones and the activation of vitamin D. Ask an expert at the store which SPF is appropriate for your skin tone and type, try to avoid tanning between 12 and 3 in the afternoon and you should be fine. Moderation is the key to everything!

EDIT: Ha! I thought you meant real tanning... Anyway, I think it's better to rely on actual tanning in the sun if you live in a place where sun is available, it is probably healthier and better for you and also cheaper! And it always looks more natural that way, especially if you're using fake tan lotions...

tanning once every two weeks is better. Why dont you try those self tanning lotion?

Edit: Yes mam, so sure its too much. I tan from eleven till whenever the sun goes down (coz i dun get tanned easily). To be doing once a week is definitely damaging.

Tanning once a week is a bit much just do it every other week if you're desperate. There are all kinds of tinted lotions that work really well, especially if you have the inability to tan without freckling like I do. lol

certain! I did that very last 3 hundred and sixty 5 days and that i went from 5 min. once per week to 10 min. once per week. you may have a tan or sunkissed searching pores and skin interior of two months. (counting on your pores and skin form) in case you burn wait till your pores and skin has totally healed earlier you bypass decrease back. Which does take about per week to heal. i might want to somewhat take my time than be in a hurry and reason extra damage to my pores and skin.

keep your skin color cause i have really dark skin and it is not pretty i would love to have light skin but if you really want a tan you should just do it every month or so cause too my sun for your skin is not good cause you can get skin cancer and all this other bad stuff and sometimes if you have really light skin your skin just turns into a pure red instead of a tan

Hmm.. that would be overdoing it.

Use a gentle tanning moisturiser instead or go to a tanning salon once every few weeks *LOL*

I'd go twice a week as long as you pay per session and not monthly, that would save you money.
