The Chinese were treated pretty badly by England, Japan, and even fought two wars against the USA. Will they seek revenge, or forgive and forget?

The Chinese can prosper without the U.S. market. They are the number one trading partner for every country in that region... and those are heavily populated countries.

The EU has virtually NO industrial capacity, save maybe West Germany.

That is the character not in the DNA for those people. Just look the history. China never invade other country.

They mind only their own business.

You are right about listing just about all the nations that are invaders. Not a proud thing kinda think about it.

Two wars against the US? They never had troops in Vietnam. We were allies in WWII vs the Japanese empire that murdered and raped millions of Chinese. Chiang and Mao found a common enemy for which to fight and actually put off their civil war in order to drive out Japan. In Korea they sent troops across the Yalu River on an offensive against US/UN troops, but were driven back by Gen. MacArthur. He wanted to proceed into China & expand the war. That's when Truman "retired" him. China also invaded Tibet. Today you will not find too many men alive that were born between 1930 & 1939 because they were all slaughtered, their culture altered, the Dalai Lama was driven out to India, and Tibetan women were raped so their bloodline would no longer be pure. Since then they've been too busy jailing critics of the communist regime, religious leaders, and pro-democracy movement leaders. Hopefully freedom will emerge in China with a change by a new generation of leadership. The Opium Wars, the days of the War Lords, and Cultural Revolution are over.

China is strong, but not that strong. Just because they have a large country and huge population doesn't mean they are prepared to modern nations. Without nukes there is no way they could mount a campaign against the US, which has a significant technological advantage.

So forgive and forget is in there best interest.

no because the chinese economy is dependent on the us economy. were the number one purchaser of their goods and we pull the plug then their economy will fall apart. Thi is evident with their paying for our war in iraq. I beleive thyre just biding theyre time until teir the wolrd power once again but i dont think they realize how fast and how far the eu has come. Once our demise is complete, it will be the eu running the show once again

they couldn't give a stuff about the rest. Taiwan is screwed however. The rest is history. The US is still to powerful to get revenge on. If the US economy crumbles, watch China attack...and hard. otherwise, an unsteady peace will remain.

They have already sought their revenge. Look at how many Made in China products there are in the US, UK, and Japan? Look at how many jobs are offshored to China? Even Japanese stuff is offshored to China. I buy Japanese goods because I want the high quality, but when it I see the Made in China sticker on it makes me want to throw it back.

what two wars are you talking about, chinese were involved in korean war but we didnt actually attack the country and WW2 I dont remember a warfront against chinese by americans, Japanese hold grudges too but will they attack,i dont think so, chinese wants to get into the economic game involving finance, that might be war that we might lose.
