The best car would be a truck, extended cab if you can find one in your budget. It will hold 4 or 5 people and lots of bikes and gear in the back.

Honda Fit or Nissan Versa. Both will fit 2 people and 2 bikes or 4 people and no bikes with ease. They also get great gas mileage, so you can spend more on bikes.

Honda Element, you can put the bikes right in without taking off wheels, etc.....if its above your income think about an suv that you only need to take the front wheel off possibly that you can still sit people in at the same time....you'll be glad you did on the rainy days...and this way your bike is being blasted by rain outside at 50mph either.....still too much? a used wagon is third.....good luck my friend

compact cars are great for throwing all your gear into and have room to spare for a few friends. the Honda element and Scion xB are good choices and cost under $15,000 i think. the xB makes for a nice tuner, if your the kind that likes to throw on a bunch of aftermarket crap.

Subaru Brat - more dependable than anything American, 4WD if you need it, has a bed, cheap and fuel efficient.
