I am a christian and I think it would be awesome if you did that. God only forbid tatoos in the old testament because they were marking there bodies in honor of foreign Gods. It would be a great testimony to get that tattoo. I say go for it.

Why would you ever want religious crap on your body like that when there are so many more things in life that are personal and meaningful to you?

I suggest you stay away from it, there was a guy at my work that had a tattoo of Jesus on his neck, no one even knew his name they ignored that info and just referred to him as "the Jesus freak" so that's how you might be looked upon.

Not to mention why are you asking if it's "ok" to do anything? your acting like a little child that needs permission or a politician that needs campaign advice before acting on his own two feet...you should get tattoo of a marionette puppet with your own face on it and a bunch of freaks running the strings up in the clouds!

Why scar your skin? Where symbols on your clothing or on your person. Do you think you want problems when you get old and your skin gets wrinkled. Then think of the cost! I don't mean in one way either. A tattoo can either make you or break you. Think long and hard , but if you do get one make sure it's discrete, because instead of people admiring it they can make you feel badly. I say small and discrete is your best bet if you want one so badly. good luck!

I have thought of getting tattoos as well, but the Old Testament says not to mark your body, so I have not got one yet. And I'm not sure if I ever will. Sorry I can't help.

I think you need to determine why you want the tattoos. Do you really need a tattoo of Jesus? If you are doing it to show your faith, maybe all you really need is for him to be in your heart. If Jesus is in your heart people will see him through you.

Bad in which sense?
Why do you want a Jesus on your back?
What purpose will it serve?
A religious symbol/figure should be treated with due respect and the skin on someone's back is not exactly fit for it.
Then again it's your skin and your beliefs, so...
While we're on the subject, I think it's silly and pointless.

I know a Spanish kid who got a huge tattoo of Jesus across his back. He later converted to Islam and regrets that he has it. He still believes in Jesus, but Islam forbids tattoos.

Nothing wrong with it at all as long as it is not in bad taste or blasphemous. If people can raise athletes and movie stars to the status of gods, why cannot you express what you belive in.

It depends on why. if you just want tattoos all over you for no particular reason then its wrong, if you have it done as a statement of who you are (that being a christian) then its fine.
