If your gran is half, then your parent will be a fourth(1/4), and YOU will be one eighth(1/8), your kids will be one sixteenth (1/16)
Cheers :-)

Cherokee is a culture, not a blood type. You will have 1/8 the physical traits (high cheekbones, skin color, black hair) but the culture you are raised in must be considered. Once you are a part of a tribe, you will always be considered part of the family, regardless of heredity. If you have little or no Cherokee upbringing, then you have almost no association with the tribe. Blessings

You have a small amount of Cherokee in you, Be proud of your other heritage too, People seem to forget to be proud of other heritage, like many breed of white skinned people who worked very hard to make this country and get everyone out of Tee pees

If no more was added, just keep dividing that in half...

Great grandparent - Full
Grandparent - Half 1/2
Parent - Quarter 1/4
You - One Eighth 1/8th

That's as far as it goes for just rambling off your background... As far as anything else goes, the others that mention being a part of the culture, having grown up in it, etc, are right.

If your grandmother was half, then your father or mother (whichever is appropriate) would have been one fourth, and you would be one eighth.

you have 1/8th Cherokee blood.

It's what your heart believes that counts.

You are Cherokee if you feel that you are.
