Christians don't even believe that animals have spirits to begin with, clean or otherwise. What about the predatory animals? Where do they fit in? It could be argued by many that they aren't clean, otherwise they wouldn't kill for any reason.

God made animals the way they are. Lions have stomache acid that is strong so they can digest raw meat. They also have long teeth.

Okay, good call. Once again an answer of mine prompts a question. You are right, I should have corrected my statement to read: an animal has no capacity to know right from wrong, it is a "blank slate." Is that better? Sorry for the confusion.

As for predatory animals, that is a result of the fall, and they should not be regarded as good nor evil. They are simply animals. Too often we humans personify human traits and characteristics onto critters that don't warrant them. When a lion takes down a gazelle, it is simply doing an instinct, not an "evil" act.

It should also be noted that animals rarely hunt (kill) "for pleasure." They hunt to eat.

I am a christian and I think animals have souls and spirits, and the bible says they will be in heaven when the lamb lays with the lion!
