Disgusting actions from the manufacturer and psychiatrists who happily covered up the facts of children committing suicide and let the millions roll on from it being prescribed to kids. They ought to lose their whole profit from this drug worldwide.
I took it for a couple of years and would never again. (Think it raised my adult suicide thoughts.) I will also now avoid Glaxo drugs in future.

I'm afraid as I get older I get more cynical and for me this is just confirmation that it's not only politicians than aren't to be trusted! We can't trust pharmaceutical firms, or even scientists.
We (society) have allowed a situation where profit rules, and damn the consumer but I have no idea how that can be reversed.
Having taken Seroxat as an adult I agree with Rob, it probably can increase suicidal thoughts (and actions) in adults too - it happened in my case.
And I agree with the person who advised caution in coming off the medication if you are affected - do seek medical advice and your doctor should ensure you are taken off it safely and an alternative prescribed but remember, it is your body and you have a right to decide what goes into it - you may have to argue to convince your doctor to change medication though - they don't always believe journalists or share public concerns!

Hi I was on seroxat for many years and after watching a panarame programme in 2004 I decided no more, I went to my GP and together with her advice I weaned off them this took a good six months. I found I suffered huge side affects whilst coming off them, not a nice experience. I,d recommend coming off these as they are very addictive but do it with your GP,s help. Take care A

If it's true, the police should be called.
I doubt however that this will happen because all the police, (who are from the lowest orders of society themselves), do is lock up 'nutters!'
Only one serious point , do not stop taking the medicine without talking to your doctor.
The BBC in their New Labour hatred of the drug companies always forget the patients.
I note with disgust that Panorama did not give a warning on this.

I think most people who saw that programme would feel you had made the correct decision re seroxat, but tell your doctor their are alternative therapies available and you should always seek professional advice.

No i did not see it, and it is your chose if you do not want to take it, but you really need to talk with your doctor, and come off it slowly, so you do not have 3 times worse the simpoms that you already have been takeing the med's for. So talk with you doctor and have him change your meds, and let him taper you off of the stuff you do not want to be on, that is the safe way.

Please don't go cold turkey and not continue your meds. You need to come off this drug in a controlled way. Seek advise from your doctor on the best way to do this, but don't stop just now. It will do more harm to you. Suddenly stopping will send you into a tail spin, so gently does it.
