Sounds disgusting and unnecessarily painful. God mentioned in the Bible (in the Levitical Laws to the Jews) that self-mutilation was not to be accepted. Even Paul who twisted and defied everything Jesus taught agreed on that part.

yeah, people have done that all through history. In Vietnam, a common cure for maladies is to cover the patient's arms with hot coins. I mean not by doctors, it's a traditional thing, you know? Things like that have always happened; it's kinda like getting a tattoo.

NO! Being branded is an really bad OWCHIE! It's stupid to scar yourself on purpose! There are plenty of cross necklaces and earrings. There is NEVER any reason to brand yourself. God knows you love him, so there is no need for branding or scarring or mutilation.
