Leviticus 24:16 (King James Version)

16And he that blasphemeth the name of the LORD, he shall surely be put to death, and all the congregation shall certainly stone him: as well the stranger, as he that is born in the land, when he blasphemeth the name of the Lord, shall be put to death.

Kind of seems like it, don't you agree?

look, the old testament is a seriously screwed up book. Did you know the pharaoh was going to let go of the Jews, and then god "hardened his heart against the pleas of the jews" because he didn't think the jews were ready. we're also overlooking the fact that HE KILLED EVERYONE ON EARTH in the flood. Then, he wiped out two cities because he didn't like them. sounds like the jews have some serious issues to work out.

FYI you will locate in the path of the path of your existence that many human beings will locate motives to disagree with you and your non secular dogma. learning a thank you to safeguard your ideals with cogent properly concept out arguments is a very good exercising which will help you be conscious of why you have faith what you do instead of merely mindlessly repeating what you heard in church on Sunday and having no recourse yet to sense like an fool while somebody calls your ideals into question.

Before Jesus came down to earth, God was trying to teach His beloved people. So He placed very strict rules and saw them through. This just goes to show you how serious and strict He really is.

But then He sent His son to die for us so that everyone can be saved by the blood of our Lord Jesus Christ. This shows how much He really loves us.

So we should show our appreciation by honoring and praising Him. The Bible helps us to get to know our Heavenly Father better. He is a loving and forgiving God, but... I don't think we should push Him too far. After all, you should F E A R your God.

Well, at least you're reading the Bible.

Inspirational? Yes, it inspires me to follow the word of God.

Comforting? Yes, the word of the Lord does not return to him void.

Now how about reading something from the New Testament? How about posting a question with a "red letter" quote in it, yes?

OT followers were under the LAW and there was no blood atonement for sin. To a great degree they had to answer then and there for their sin. Jesus Christ fulfilled the law by sacrificing his own blood, his perfect blood, once and for all mankind. So the requirements of this verse have been met. It no longer applies in the same sense as it was written here.

P.S. In answer to the comment about God hardening Pharaoh's heart, that must be taken in context. Pharaoh's heart was already plenty hard enough, which is why the Jews were enslaved, tormented, murdered and over burdened for 400 years. God simply gave Pharaoh up to his own character for several reasons: Had Pharaoh released the Jews it would not have stemmed from a love for them or a goodness of heart,or a love and respect for Almighty God, but rather a selfish desire to avoid more plagues. God knew this, knew Pharoah's heart and handed him over to his own devices, which were his undoing. Much like what is going on now in the world, and has been for thousands of years. God doesn't make people bad or evil. We are all born with inherent sin, original sin, but then there is another type: Willful sin. And God doesn't spare us if that is our will.
