Well since this question is in the CAT forum I'm assuming you're talking about little fur people AKA cats.
We have so many homeless cats in this country because people are under the misguided impression that cats NEED to go outside and that simply is not true.
Plus these seem misguided people don't get their pets spayed or neutered.

My mom is a social worker at the Salvation Army. Some of the homeless do have mental illness not all of them 9 times out of 10 people is 5 that has the illness.Some lost their job because their factory shut down and they just couldnt find work for what they were qualified for.For some its drugs and gambling and some would just prefer to be drifters.Then you have those that dont have an education and figure the more kids they have the bigger their check will be.I think they should focus on building houses for the homeless that are willing to work and help them find a job so they can stay working.

Most homeless people have some sort of mental disability. You would be amazed to find out that a good number of homeless people really do not have to be homeless. Most have families. They just refuse or neglect to take their medication and therefore become unfit to live with. It really is very sad.

People coule be homeless for various reasons,some want to be independent,some homeless people have some sort of mental disability and some can not afford homes.

it is sad that we have so many homeless animals in this country. the best way to help that is to spay and neuter your pets that will keep them from adding to all the homeless animals in this country.

Actually some want to be homeless....then there is a millions reasons for the many others.
