I cut my knuckle while goofing around with a friend when his watch nicked me. I cleaned it off, and it seems to be healing fine. Other than the fact that it is right on my knuckle, it isnt hurting abnormally, it's not super red, but the scab on it is green. Does that necessarily mean it's infected?

Keep in mind, this is a tiny cut, the scab is about the size of a grain of rice (actually a little shorter) and so it's not super serious. But I will definitely put alcohol on it and see if there are any changes.
I'll keep you guys posted...

It definatley doesnt sound infected to me because of the fact that you're not experiencing any pain or redness in the affected area. However, being that it is so tiny of a cut, I would personally soak it in warm water and allow for the "green scab" to come off as naturally as possible and start over. Once the scab is removed, clean it with hydrogen peroxide, apply Neosporin or another anti-bacterial cream, and then cover with a bandaid for a day or two.
If the scab is still green after this, as small as it is, you should make an appointment with your doctor to check it out.
Good luck.

No..you know if its infected if the area is very painful, alot of pus leaking out of the area, if your fingers start to hurt as well, if you have a hard time moving your fingers that is another sign of infection. But no it sounds like it's not infected.
Signs and Symptoms of Infection
Redness
Red streaking
Pain
Swelling
Localized warmth
Fever
In general, watching for signs and symptoms of infection may be important to you so that any developing infection may be detected early and the right treatment started. General signs and symptoms of an infection might include a fever higher that 100.5 degrees, chills, pain, an ache or tenderness, general feeling of tiredness, and night sweats. If you have an infected wound or incision, you may also have redness, heat, swelling, pain or fluid that is white, yellowish or greenish coming from your wound. The proper treatment can be started quickly with early detection of infection. If you notice any of these symptoms, please call your health care provider.

My mom is a registered nurse and she once told me that green is a sign of infection.Whether in your nose or on a scab. Make sure you keep that area clean and get it checked out and treated.

I don't think that it is infected but u might just want to keep an eye on it and go to a doctor if it seems to be getting worse instead of better.

Even if it doesn't hurt it doesn't sound healthy. Give it a soak in some very warm sudsy water, give it a light scrub and then douse it with antibacterial ointment, neosporin or triple antibiotic ointment and wrap it up. Better safe than sorry.

Yes green, yellow and red are infection. Disinfect with alcohol-it'll burn like crazy. If you can't handle the burn do peroxide a few times.
