For welding, for any flame, the closer the flame reaches white or deep blue it is at its hottest... however when welding the blue area is usually inaccurate due to it's large diameter. You should always find the inner core (the whitish-blue) and move to the border between that core and the outer flame. But this is just for welding, not ar welding. And as always BE SAFE!!!!
