My son-in-law served 2 tours in Iraq. He told us it was either fight them there or here. He wanted us safe so he would go there. He is one of the good guys. We all love him and are so thankful he made it back home in one piece, but he still dreams. He probably will have to go again, but that is OK, he is doing his duty and giving back to his country. Pulling out would be such a big mistake. If we pull out we have thrown 2300 or more people away for nothing. That makes us as bad as the terrorists. Cut and run, Hanoi Jane is back on the scene. We threw thousands of lives away in Vietnam for nothing. We cut and ran.

We have to stay to help the people of Iraq organise a government that will make Iraq safe and strong. Most Iraq's are grateful. My son was there for 9 months the story he tells is a lot different that whats on TV.I also feel we must invade and liberate Iran in order to win this war, the sooner the better.

The U.S. can not pull out of Iraq as they created a power void with the toppling of Saddam Hussein, the two factions in the south will not stop fighting until one is eliminated, the Kurds in the North want their own home land or country , a shared government stands the same chance as a pig has of flying.
Only a strong over powering army with a strong leader can end the conflict , which will mean extreme oppression of the people to bring peace to Iraq.

It must be tough being the only true Super Power and having to be the Worlds Watch dog at the same time! We were all shattered by what you guys took in 9/11, closer to home the Bali bombings and riots here really hit home, as did the London Underground. The thing is right or wrong you can't change a people by force - has never worked ! You can't seek to impose your own thoughts on others and carry it through with firepower alone. Besides when does the cost your carrying become too Great to burden. How many American boys have to die for your notion of freedom. Sorry , but wasn't it the same in Vietnam.

We have to stay. No matter how you feel about the war. If we stay and succeed, 20 years from now, Iraq will be a great model for the rest of the middle east. The 20 something generation will not hate the U.S. If we pull out now, Iraq will be a place of genocide and much grief. The 20 something generation will remember that the U.S. started a fight we would not finish and will hate us and will kill us.

i was for pulling out of iraq from the begining. ever since the UN sed not to go in i knew wed be screwed.
but now that the country is in civil war we have to stay a bit to clean up the mess we made.
it would be wrong to leave.
i still support a partial pullout. but still we should leave peace keeping troops. to settle down this sectarian violence
we screwed stuff up. now its time to be responsible for it, and clean up.

Why pull out? Radical muslims are NOT PEACEFUL! They do not play by the rules! They have been killing civilians around the world for decades now! 9/11 was just the topping on the cake that opened our eyes b/c it finally happened on our soil! BUT, I think the liberals have forgotten this. They want us to curl up in a ball and make the radicals happy! I don't think so!
As for as not being in a place we don't belong - speaking of Iraq - The war against terroism from the US due to 9/11 had to start somewhere! Bin Laden is in Afghanistan! Iraq was the only way in! Of course other countries are the same such as North Korea but we needed to get where the terrorist hide in their rat holes.
They won't stop! Wether we are in Iraq or not, BUT, if we are there our men may be able to influence the children to have a good life. A life w/o strapping bombs on themselves and killing each other and others! For what? This sh@@ is crazy, radical muslims are crazy! They view anyone who is not one of them as an infidel and that person must be destroyed! Man, woman, child, elderly....It does not matter! Their religion does not teach them peace, remorse, empathy! Who ever says it is a peaceful religion is full of sh@@! Mohammod was violent! He actually traveled back to MECA to overthrough and destroy b/c the people and even his own relatives in MECA did not listen to his crackpot ideas when he started his rants! Everyone should have the choice to practice free religion but don't try to wipe out the world b/c your religion teaches you to. That is not religion! We need to mimic the beliefs of our Native Americans! They knew what life and religion was about!
The war is about years of terrorist attacks by radical muslims, its about 9/11, its about religion, its about oil! No, we should not pull out of Iraq! What happens if we do? Everyone comes home and lives their happy little life with smiles on their faces! MAYBE, until radicals gain strength & KILL us on our SOIL, AGAIN!!!!!!
We need to stay, have moles planted in the terrorist areas, help the children live a good life, change crazy radical thought processes, seriously start looking at alternative feuls (and this will actually cause more chaos because Saudi's depend on our $$$ - not using their oil will cause more terrorist b/c they won't have jobs & they will be angry - WHO cares? Everything makes them angry calling for a JIHAD! JIHAD themselves - the world would be a better place!!!!), DEMAND that the US start working together & stop playing politics!!! And demand that the news presented to us be UNBIASED!!!
It is not a draft! Our soldiers voluntary enlisted! AND Thank YOU to everyone of you that did!!!
LIBERAL AMERICA will be the death to us all!! It is ignorance and useless nonsense!!! Let's start educating ourselves and our children!!!

We should pull out because we should not have gone in in the first place.... a pretty good reason for leaving Iran alone too ! I would like to preserve my own culture by leaving other cultures ALONE AND UNTOUCHED ... like... LIVE AND LET LIVE... as in DO NOT KILL... all pretty basic ideas... that every culture understands !!!!!!!!!!
Someone just said that... "If we pull out now, Iraq will be a place of genocide and much grief." -- but Iraq only became a place of genocide and much grief since we attacked them. If we had not attacked Iran those poor HALF A MILLION civilians... CIVILIANS... would still be alive !!! I do not care to impose democracy on others if it means MILLIONS OF INNOCENT BABIES BEING SLAUGHTERED........ WRONG, man... what will it take for people to understand this pretty basic idea ??????????????????????????????????????????????????? Only the ones WHO DO NOT WANT TO UNDERSTAND agree with the war in Iraq... no other possible explanation, sorry !!!
Tell you what... Bush isn't very clever... someone tell him to PLANT WMDs in Iraq... that might save face !!

no, we shouldn't leave just yet. when the iraqi police and soldiers are able to have a handle on things, we will be able to leave..... for the most part. like the balkans, we still have people there.
as far as soldiers who do not want to fight; no that can't "just quit". they signed a contract. they knew what they were signing up for. it sucks that they have changed their minds, but they have to ride it out until their term is up. that's the rules, no bending them.
i'm an army wife. i don't think i can recall any soldier who actually wants to fight. they do it because they signed up for this job, and they have duties to fulfill. they have a love for their country, and for their families. that's why they do it. but, there are a few who just can't handle it, and they get out when it is their time to do so.

Not.
We have made a commitment to the Iraqi people. It was pretty impressive when they literally risked their lives to vote in the first election. We have made great progress in disrupting the organization of alQaeda with the capture or death of a great many of their leaders. If we leave now, we will not have only thrown the Iraqi people, who trusted us, under the bus - but we will only face the real consequences lately when we have to confront a much better organized and equipped alQaeda.
That premise is pretty much historical fact - every time we tried diplomacy, negotiations or no effective response in the past, it only resulted in more terror and murder, finally culminating in the events of 9/11.
We've got them on the ropes, I say we keep wailing on them until they throw in the towel - and if Iranian weapons keep showing up in the terrorists' possession, I am also thinking that a little pre-emptive strategic bombing of Iran might force some of the terrorists to start throwing rocks at our troops instead of sniping them with automatic weapons and rockets.
