I decided to get to know this girl that always sits next to me in class (for about 4 weeks now), i decided to talk to her and get to know her better. At first she was playing with her hair when we started chatting. She greeted my conversation with a smile and seemed genuinely interested in the conversation.Then the professor started lecturing and she was fidgeting with her earrings, playing with her hair (grooming...?) and passively bitting her nails the entire time.
What do you guys/gal think?

the playing with her hair thing can be plainly a mannerism of the girl... as well as the fidgeting with her earrings. if she acted this way even before you started talking to her, it could be mannerisms only.... if she started doing these when you started talking to her, then she must be nervous or reluctant or shy in front of you...
the bitting of nails, if its seldomly done then maybe she's nervous in front of you coz you talked to her... but if its too often then she might have a problem with herself... you know what i mean.... crazy!

I don't want to shoot you down immediately, but it seems as if she was genuinely interested and those little things she does could mean that she's feeling you...or it could also mean she's nervous, which can also be a good thing. Or else, maybe those are just habits she has that are totally unrelated to how she feels about you. But so far it's looking good, keep it up and take it one day at a time. Best of luck to you!

It's hard to tell since you just started talking to her. If she knows you are staring at her, you might be making her nervous. Keep talking and acting friendly; could be the feeling is mutual and you'll never know unless you get to know her better.

that is a matter of time give her too much time and try to finalize i mean try to talk to her and chat her sometimes and try to learn her true feelings then u may understand if she is interested in you or not

she's anxious and maybe uncomfortable but you can always work that out. try making her more comfortable and show signs that you mean her no harm. she seems like a laid-back naive kind of girl.
