You should go to your doctor and have them try to help you diagnose your sleep problem. I would first recommend that you cut all caffine at least 3 hours before you are ready to go to bed. But I use melatonin sometimes. It is a hormone our body produces naturally, and when your body doesn't produce enough, insomnia can occur. When I need to take it I usually only have to use half a pill 20 minutes before I am ready to go to bed. The first time it made me tired the next day, but after that it was a lot better. You do not need a prescription to get it and it is usually fairly easy to find. I've included some websites though, that may also be helpful. Hope you get a good night's sleep!

There was a Yahoo article about the 10 best natural ways to help you sleep, they included warm milk, honey, chamomile tea, potatoes, whole wheat, and bananas. Other good things are regular exercise, turkey, and another tip I've heard about is to define exactly what is important to do in bed. Basically, keep bedtime to just sex and sleep. Don't read in bed, study in bed, and everything else. It just helps to program your body to get ready for bedtime.

Stop any caffeine intakes such as coffee, Coca cola and chocolate. Drink chamomile tea before sleeping. Put a few drops of T tree oil on your pillow. Breath deeply and start counting sheep. Good luck.

Yahoo answers while CNN is on, works for me every time!

Actually you need to go to bed, and start breathing as if you were asleep. Long deep breathing with pauses in between, it sends a signal to the brain that says "hey I am breathing like I am asleep, I must be asleep, sleep. It works!

Exercise. Eat at least 3 hours before you go to bed. This is the best: Read a book in bed.

i was using melatonin. its a chemical your brain already produces. its similiar to seratonin-the feel good chemical in your brain that alcoholics are low in. i bought it at walmart and great news, its cheap. it comes in different forms. theres one you can actually chew. id start off with half, because i was so groggy the first time i took it and felt weird. do it on a night where you dont have to get up early the next morning. i love it.

Yup,chammomile tea or warm milk are good, but dont drink it immidiately before bed, maybe an hour or two, otherwise you might have to wake up to piss.
Get in bed and read a book afterwards, that should do it....
