Every ward (congregation) has a financial clerk to keep track of tithing. However, nobody keeps track of what you earn. It is strictly on the honor system, so you get to decide for yourself. I have had months where I could not pay tithing due to unexpected medical bills, etc., and obviously I wasn't kicked out. The important thing is to set a goal of paying 10%, and do your best to meet that goal. I have heard most members say that it's often easier to pay it right away when you get your paycheck, rather than wait until the end of the year and play "catch up." Everything we have comes from God, so if your heart is in the right place it shouldn't be that hard to pay tithing.
Have a happy day, and I send you a gummy bear.

No. The Church will not kick you out if you don't pay your tithing.
There are financial records kept of your tithing, and at the end of the year there is a "tithing settlement", this can be used for official tax purposes. Also on each tithing slip there is a carbon copy for each member to keep, for their own records.

The Church doesn't "FORCE" anyone to do Anything!....If you want the blessings associated with this commandment, then keep the commandment...the Church encourages us to keep this commandment (and all of God's commandments) so that we can reap the blessings from God!

Here is the commandment and the associated blessing for keeping the commandment or cursing for not keeping the commandment(from the Bible - )

Malachi 3

8 ¶ Will a man rob God? Yet ye have robbed me. But ye say, Wherein have we robbed thee? In tithes and offerings.
9 Ye are cursed with a curse: for ye have robbed me, even this whole nation.
10 Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the LORD of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it.

No. Does your church kick you out if you don't tithe?
As stated, the church does keep financial records of all money that comes into the church - and I would assume all money going out of the church. But that's just good business sense. They do not look at our tax records, or anything like that. And it's 10% of your increase, even in Canada.

No it does not kick out if you do not pay your tithing. Some people do not pay tithing and some only pay half or even less. I know that you can not get in to the temple with out paying tithing. You have to be a full tithing paying to get in.

No! Ofcourse not, it wouldn't be as good of church if it were like that. If you don't pay tithing you don't get to go to the temple. If you do pay tithing, you recieve blessings.

As a Catholic, (and you know how many ways we try to make a buck!), the term tithing has never been used as far as I know. It seems to be a Protestant term. Catholics just try to give as they see fit. I guess 'tithing' is a nice idea, but it should only be done on a voluntary basis, according to someone's ability, and not a certain percentage of their earnings.

So what is this tithing thing? You MUST give a percentage of your pay, or you should feel guilty and unworthy? Oh, so THAT'S the way Protestants try to play the guilt card !

(By the way, after 14 years of Catholic education, I NEVER got that 'guilt' gene!)

No, you don't get kicked out. And you keep track yourself. You know if you have tithed, and if you have not, you would not ask for a Temple recommend.

not entirely but you can't enter the temples or hold certain church positions - and yes, they have a tithing settlement once a year.

They would have no way to keep track, because a lot of people just toss cash into the collection plate. They would have no way to prove that it was not your money.
