Because I have to believe that there is something better than the human filth I look at every day.

There's beauty in the world, even despite how ugly things have become.

That hope inside everyone... that has to come from somewhere.

...Oh, and just to note, the divine doesn't necessarily have to be a 'him' or a 'her,' and people will always have hardships in their lives - - religion isn't a factor in that. Religion does sometimes help provide a guideline to how to deal with those hardships, though.

The worse things get, the more I believe in Him. And they will get worse. A lot worse. I believe because of the light at the end of this dark tunnel. For explanation and reason. For purpose. For hope. And because every sense that I have tells me that creation did not, could not have occurred by chance. The human brain tells me that. The universe in its complexity and perfection, mystery and beauty tells me that.

It's hard to explain. I can't say I've had any sort of "divine inspiration" or something, I just sorta know. I'm a pagan so I have a belief in more than one incarnation of "god"

We don't have a Bible or Koran or Torah. Just a compilation of our own experiences and the experiences of others like us.

I believe because I chose to, and I would not believe unless my conscience directed me to it and I felt the tugs at my heart. Plus I have experienced God's physically healing miracles so I know there is something beyond nature and this life.

Actually I would like some source of that last fact. My life has got significantly better with prayer.

There is proof of Him in the spirit. How do you explain a total atheist like me becomes a born again CHristian with no influence by people?

I believe because I was changed...and I have seen miracles.

Sometimes God has to clean out the Temple that we have invited Him to live in, and everyone knows that sometimes when you clean house it can get messier while the process is taking place, but afterwords it is well worth the time and trouble and easier to maintain when there's less clutter.

Proof lies within the experience each individual. Some have the experience and some don't. Once you have an inner experience, you stop questioning and begin loving.

I believe in God because He is there all the time. You have to accept Him to feel Him, not the other way round.
