When I go to the barber and ask for a Caesar cut, should he be asking me "How short"?

I mean, I thought it was a simple instruction. In the past, I have used more complex instructions (no guard on parts, etc.), but I thought this simple, standard cut would be no problem. I was shocked when he asked me "how short?"

For the record, I just responded "As short as it goes."

Yes, he should ask you how short you want it. You can make a Caesar cut extremely short or a little longer. The main reason why its called a Caesar is because of the short straight across bangs.
