Did you always hold the beliefs that you currently do, even though your parents insisted that you follow theirs instead? Or do you now believe in something different than you did back then?

I was raised in a quasi-Christian household. I now believe something other than what my parents wanted me to believe, because I just couldn't swallow the inconsistencies and contradictions. I am now Pagan.

I held beliefs close to those I currently have but still fell into the guidelines of Catholic. But certain life experiences guided me to the belief system I have adopted and now follow.

I was raised in the Church of Christ and I have most definitely changed my views. I think you have to have your own beliefs to live a wholesome life not to agree or disagree with anyone's religion but you have to go with what is right for you not what is right just for the fact that it is for someone else.

It appears to me that if your views of the world don't change as you experience more of life, then you haven't grown as a person.

...Unless, of course, you were born perfect. ;)

But for me, I found that there were some things about my original religion that I never believed in, and some things that I realized didn't 'work' for me because of a changed perspective.

It's worth noting, though, that one's view of the world can change without needing to change a religion. It wouldn't hurt to try looking at an old concept from a new perspective. :)

I originally beleived what I was told in church and then actually sat down and read the bible and decided that I no longer wanted to be a christian. There is too much hate in the bible and in the faith that I grew up in so I chose a more peaceable religionlater in life.

I was raised Catholic.... I still keep my morals and follow the words of Jesus but I don't label myself under any religion... they are all run by evil men that are after their own personal gain and power.

I found and accepted with all my heart the physical world around me when I was 9. My family was Baptist.

I no longer maintain the belief that my parent's taught me.

Christian was their choice....not mine!
