There's no proof that I know of that says clearly that "Jesus is real" "Jesus is alive/resurrected" and "Jesus is divine"...so...

I'm an Ex-Christian, one who wants to believe but can't.

When Jesus asked Simon Peter "who say ye that I am?"---Peter replied "Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God" how did Peter know that?
Jesus then said...blessed art thou *for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father in heaven!

that is the key! personal revelation

God must show you...if you are to really know.
I would suggest that you humbly pray to God and ask Him for that revelation to you personally. I see that you have desire to know you said you were "one who wants to believe...."

I will share my testimony with you, that I do know that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, and that He was crucified for the sins of the world.

no man revealed that to me...but God revealed it to me...I know with certainty and now I am not tossed about by every wind of doctrine of man.

Can't?
Read chapter 2 of Acts and consider how life would be if and when you receive that experience. If you need any more proof than that then you are in serious denial.
I know most churches don't teach the plain and simple truth. They have watered it down, added their own little ideas and laws, diluted the purity and power of the original truth. But God has not changed. Ever wonder why the scripture says narrow is the way and straight is the path to salvation? To whom does the world think that applies? Is everyone who claims to have been "saved" going to rule and reign with Jesus? Where is the holiness? Where is the sacrifice for those who live any way they want during the week and then faithfully "repent" for the same old sins every Sunday? Does the world really think God is a feeble old fool who can't or won't stand by His own word? Where is the obedience He asks for? Where is the unfeigned love for others He commands us to have?
Anyone who claims to serve God is accountable for these things, and more. The prayer, the fasting, the works, the sacrifice, the compassion, the care, the love.
Living for God is just that, "living" for Him.

If you really want to know God on a personal level that you have never even imagined just read Acts 2 and then ask Him for that experience. If you are sincere He will lead you into all you desire, and more. If you are not so dedicated to the truth then you will settle for the modern "churches" and their facade.
I think you want more.

It is called Faith. You are talking about religion, not science. Not everything in this world has definitive proof. Your asking this question implies that you do have some belief. You know he exists. Just don't feel it yet.......

Do what I do. Go to church (Christian Church) ONLINE.

I moved to Tucson, AZ awhile ago but missed my church out in San Jose, Cali area............ But then they started webcasting.

Jubilee.org

You can watch every sunday.
Pastor Dick Bernal is a great preacher....... You will like him.
You can even email him from the site, or look for Juanita Pearson (she is a female minister) and also my GodMother. She will answer any questions you may have. She is very kind.

Good Luck.

Come to the dark side! Embracing atheism is freeing (or agnosticism)

First, you won't have slef righteous ******* like revalushyn telling you that you were never Christian. Having one Christian pass judgement on the validity of another person's Christianity is like poop telling vomit it stinks.

Second - how frustrating is it when d-bags say "there is historical proof" of Jesus's resurection, the flood, yadda yadda yadda, and then don't cite the source of this "historical proof"? C'mon, in the age of google it's not that hard to back up valid arguments now adays.

Third, you can think like an adult and not have to put up with conversations like this: "How can we Believe the bible?" "Because it is God's perfect word." "How do we know that?" "Cause it says so in the Bible, can't you see?" Implying there is something wrong with *you* because you can't see God's 'perfect' word. (If it was perfect to begin with....)

Hey, I admit, there are some cool things about believing. But there is also cool things about magic shows, psychics, Nostradamus, UFO sightings, Nessie....

All I can say is that intellectual yearning you have for religion can be surplanted by science, astronmy, literature, social science, philosophy, social criticism, physics, nature, biology, or plenty of other things in the real world. There are plenty of other mysteries out there that one could spend the rest of one's life pursing and gain immense satisfaction.

First of all, you're not an x-Christian; you were never born again to begin with. I can say this with no reservation whatsoever because had you actually been saved, this would have been true of you:

Jhn 14:21 He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.

It's hard isn't it. I finally gave up on christianity after reading the bible. I just couldn't give myself to a god that was always contridicting himself. But hey, you gotta take you religion on faith or you have nothing.

YOU CAN'T, just like you can't be sure the person that wrote the bible wasn't just schizo or lying about being a prophet. There is no way to prove it; I guess just go with your instinct.

There are historical proofs

If you are for real-----email me and I will provide you with the historical accounts and you can look them up for yourself.

Non Christian authors------historians-----contemporaries, a little of all so that no bias is involved.
