I am not sure if this applies to a 2002 Dodge Stratus, but I have personally replaced the battery in a 1996 Stratus. It is easier to remove the drivers front wheel. You will then have to remove the inner fender panel and it is all right there. These cars have a GM style side terminal type battery.

is this a traditional battery location under the hood. I had to change a battery on a Sebring and the battery was in front of the left front tire. If the battery is located under the hood it is wise to have the key off and the engine off. disconnect the negative battery cable. then disconnect the positive(red) battery cable. take off the hold down. install the replacement in the reverse order taking care to slip the replacement battery past the battery cables (you don't want to put your hold down(clamp) with the cables underneath.

Don't pay any attention to the thumbs down ratings. Just remove the left front wheel, remove the panel in front of the wheel and you will find the battery.
