the problem with "teacup" (its suppose to fit in a teacup) pups is they have a multitude of healtrh problems associated with them. heart, lung and liver problems happen all the time with them and vet bills can be expensive. They are also way expensive. Think about it. lots of people want them but a breeder might only get one or two pups (some breeds produce 10 or more) they can live in apartments or condos unlike many bigger dogs and with todays lifestyles (busy, busy busy) they may be the only type some people have time for. think in the thousands not hundreds for some of these dogs. and these are still not as small as a hamster.

The smallest breed of dogs is the taco bell dog these are born about the size of a mouse thats about small as they get i looked it up on the internet for you. I have seen these dogs that are pure breed but accutlly 10 lbs it just bepends on the breeder and the pups parents size what would be good to do it rip out the newspaper and call around to some breeders and ask then how big the pups parents on and you can get an idea from there a great bread chihuaha would be about 300-2000 dollars so good luck!

The smallest dog I have seen is a Chihuahua. It was only a picture but it was really tiny. It was not as small as a hamster though. I don't think that size exists. A dog that small would be so delicate that you would have to constantly watch it as it could break legs very easy. People who breed dogs to be that tiny are not being responsible.

Ok this question i found quite strange, if you want something the size of a hamster why not just get a hamster or a gerbil or something? Toy poodles stay quite small forever.. its like having a permanant puppy around, if you want something really small why not try a guinea pig? = )

having a chihuahua is already very small and already very difficult to keep them in good health cos they are so small and fragile....can't imagine if dog is the same size as a hamster.

teacup chihuahua is the smallest. But I do not recomend you buy these because its actually a breed standard fault. Its just like you'll get a beautiful woman to marry but ends up with a midget. Do not buy signature dogs and dogs that is not within the breed standard. Opt for a standard size chihuahua, pomeranian or a yorkshire terrier.

Get a hamster then, or maybe a mouse or something. Why on earth would you want a dog that small?
