would you get in more trouble if you got caught with possession with ecstasy, or coke? Also what would be the consequences.. (if it was a small amount, and if the person was under 18)?

Drugs fall into categories depending on several different things such as how dangerous they are, how addictive they are, medical uses, etc. In Texas we have 4 penalty groups. Cocaine and x both fall into Penalty Group 1 which is the worst. All drugs in a penalty group carry the same punishment. Possession Of a Controlled Substance Penalty Group 1 < 1gm is a State Jail Felony. Depending on how much of the drug you have or if you are in a drug free zone could raise the bar for a higher punishment.
So the answer to your questions if you have the same amount of cocaine as you do X, the punishment is the same.

Ecstasy is still a horrible drug but I've heard that cocaine is more addictive and causes recurrences so the punishment should be much more harsh. But depending on what state you live in, if you are under 18 they usually will send you to a judge which will try you as an adult but also the worst you might have to do is probation if this is your first offense. But that's of course you only have a small amount.

In texas, they would both be felony possession of a controlled substance. The minimum amounts for both drugs would probably incur the same or very similar sentences.

underage will give a lighter sentence if the record is clean.
and no priors
no difference with ecstasy or coke
if you don't have the money for defense you will be given a public defender

they are under the same law illegal substances but most judges consider coke worse than E and consequences depend o0n judge and circumstances and lawyer you have

The 'trouble' is pretty much the same - it's an illegal substance. I'd rather stick with natural highs, drugs aren't my thing :)
