I have a very important wedding to go to and I want to look tanned. I have tried every self-tanning lotion there is out there and even mystic tans, but nothing makes you look golden like tanning beds. I have only tanned in a tanning bed once about six months ago. I decided to only go for 3 sessions of 11 minutes each. Is this enough to get skin cancer? Am I at a big risk? I have medium to fair skin.

Any time out in the sun or laying in a tanning bed could give you skin cancer. Have you tried any tanning sprays? I think those give a really good tan if you get a professional to do it for you (although I don't get it done, myself).

In my personal opinion, yes, you are at risk.

In theory yes- so is it really worth it? I'm sure you're pretty enough, go get you're make-up done instead. I bet they can give you a golden look you'll like. Because I've found with many of my friends and colleagues that they go to the beds habitually now. they no longer feel pretty without going. Which is a shame because not only is it not true but its dangerous . My sister started off going on occasion (and I'm not making this stuff up to discourage you) and now she's been going every other day for the past five years. She's 29 and its starting to age her pretty face. She says that its not out of vanity but that she finds the beds relaxing. And if you try to comment about it at all she gets super mean. so before you decide to go ask why its so important to look tan does it really matter?

Yes it can give you skin cancer and makes your skin dry, It also ages the skin, Three sessions may not leave you brown either. I would suggest getting a spray tan done by a professional. The best product is St Tropez it leaves you golden brown.

You know, any amount can be enough to get skin cancer, my Aunt used to use tanning beds and sit out in the sun every single day of her life and it never hurt her. It kinda of depends on your family genetics, does it run in your family? If so, u are more likely to get it. Hope that helps!

Depends on the darkness You are looking for. The longer you are under strong direct light the more damage You will do. Ask You solarium attendant for advice.
