... I First saw (the man I was to fall in love with ) rising from a calm pool of water. In the background there was a mural of a "Titanic-looking" ship painted on the wall.

As he was rising (slowly) from the pool of water, --when he looked at me he smiled. It was a very peaceful smile.

What could this dream have meant, if anything?

NOTE: This mural was merely a picture of a SHIPWRECK.

I've NEVER seen the movie "Titanic"-- I only remember the story from High School history class.

The interpretation of dreams has been the subject of many, many books. There are books on symbolism (such as the meaning of swimmers, water, birds, etc) and books on interpretation and books on all sorts of stuff. So if you really want to explore the subject, spend some time at the library. Having said all that, here's my guess; the calm pool of water is your wish for your future, or that your wishes will be answered from out of calmness and depth. The rising man is obviously your fantasy lover with the characteristics you would like in "Mr. Right". The large ship may be the journey through life that you want to take with your lover. There, you have an interpretation. But I won't claim any great insight or understanding, I just took a stab at it. I do recommend a trip to the library.

Your dream sounds pretty creepy to me.. Associating a guy you may meet with the Titantic is destined for trouble.. Just my opinion..
