So me and my guy of 9 years are "together" but we're not, we had a big argument this past weekend.. if you know what I mean. While we're not over or anything, he's just re-evaluating "himself" and "trust" issues with me. Everything has been going good and we still act and hang out like we are still together, nothing has changed at all.. I asked him tonight, if he made a decision about the relationship and he said, "i will have one by the weekend, and i am more towards getting back together officially, so don't worry about anything." But yet he turns around and is saying "you can do better than me, why are you with me, there are so many other guys out there... I don't want any other girl but you, i love you, but how do you like me, after 9 years?.."

What do I do? How do I interpret this? Is he having doubts that I love him and that he's scared I'll break up with him, or what?

I'm sorry, I know this is harsh but, I nearly hurled while reading your post. He sounds like a head-gamer and is all set to reel you in; and you're just hanging on the line waiting to be reeled.

Honey, kick him in the pants and walk out and tell him to call you when he grows a spine.

Looks like he is insecure about himself, if I were you I would tell him that we've been together for 9 years and got through everything as one. Never broke up so if that isn't a good enough reason then I don't know what is. Honestly you should have been married by now, ask him what makes him question your relationship after 9 years. Does he see you with him in the future?

He may be testing you, but then again he maybe trying to get you to break up because he doesn't want to do the breaking up. It's difficult t say. What lead you to this argument - was a bunch of little things or a major thing? Either way what ever it was about was it very important?
9 years is a long time to throw down the tubes but maybe he is done or maybe there is something more important pending on his mind and is waiting to see how committed you really are...I guess i wasn't much help...just more thoughts....

He doesn't want to hurt you by dumping you, so he tries to make you dump him.
This is one of the most common words before the brake-up.
