Because this day and age, science over rules the religious freaks (to a certain extent), and it has been proven that the earth revolves around the sun. Plus it is against the law to kill just because someone disagrees with you about something.

When it speaks about the sun revolving around the Earth, it's from a human perspective, and the sun does appear to move around the Earth from our point of view.

The bible never say's that, in fact it says the earth is round before it was discovered to be. We don't condon the death penalty for as much as the Jews because we believe that when Jesus died, sin died with him. If someone accepts Jesus, they are forgiven.
