I'm not sure if I want traditional or filled. I would love some opinions on each. Thanks!

gambino, rouses, randazzo. Gambino and randazzo is Expensive but you get best bakery quality. Rouses is good and not to expensive to ship. MMMMMMM filed with strawberry and cream cheese or lemon and cream cheese filed. what ever filled make sure it has cream cheese in it.

Go to http://neworleanswebsites.com/cat/lap/kc/kc.html
to see a listing of all places that ship King Cakes. I'd suggest Randazzos or Gambino's-they're both great! Go for a praline filled King Cake, they're the best, in my opinion...If you have enough money, get one plain and one filled so you can be your own judge. Have fun! Happy Mardi Gras!

Gambino's or Manny Randazzo's (both in the New Orleans suburb of Metairie) would be my recommendations.

I always liked the plain, traditional king cake rather than any of the filled cakes.

A yahoo search would lead you to either.

I LOVE Gambino's. I actually miss this old bakery, McKenzie's. They had the BEST king cakes and maybe I'll get jeered for this but I hate the cakes with icing and filling in it. I enjoy the sugary kind.

I worked for a insurance company in Metairie LA and we received tons of King Cakes from different bakers. Myself personally I liked
Haydel's Bakery & Randazzo's Camelia City Bakery's best. I like mine w/ cheesecake & strawberry, but the pecan/prailene is good too.
Whatever taste you enjoy. They are VERY sweet, so a 1 in. slice will more than please someone.
Enjoy!

Randazzo's Camelia City Bakery. It's in Slidell and they take online orders. Yummy! As far as plain or filled. I like both, but prefer Plain. If filled, I'd go with cream cheese & apple.

Ambrosia Bakery in Baton Rouge has a Zulu king cake that will knock your socks off! It's chocolate filled with coconut and it's sooo good :)
