Nope. What you see is what you get. Doesn't stop me from believing we should do good by others while we're on this earth, though. But no, no soul, no everlasting life, no heaven, no hell. Just here, now and then gone.

I believe we have a soul but not in the same way Christians believe.

For me my soul is who I am as a person.

What would be the point in an atheist having a soul? If he has no maker to cherish him in heaven, if he is spiritually equal to an amoeba or a daffodil, what use would a soul be?

I do not believe in a soul in the biblical sense that survives death. A persons soul is what makes him unique. It is his mind, his intellect, his conscience.

Marquis DeSade was an athiest, but he believed in an afterlife. Early forms of Buddhism ignore the idea of a god but believe in reincarnation.

An "Ayn Rand" athiest wouldn't believe in anything mystical.

It is possible for an atheist therefore to believe in other supernatural concepts, though it is extremely rare.
