take them on a walk....or keep new dog leashed in house and have your dog come to you..new dog goes to attack correct fast and with a firm no and tug leash... lots of work u might want to find a behaviorist or talk to your vet which u need to take the new dog to any way to check health..... don't let new dog eat befor e old and don't leave them together alone.

I am going to stray from your question and take another route. Small and very sweet dog that you found?? Well, how hard did you look for her owner, did you check lost and found ads in the paper? Did you run an ad of your own? Did you call local shelters to report that you found a dog?? They may let you foster her until her owners are found. Have you taken her to vets to be scanned for a microchip? You don't know her history, is she up do date on her shots, was she well groomed when you found her? You may have someones baby. I am asking this because I lost my small sweet dog, and someone picked her up and kept her. Guess what, she didn't have any tags either. I didn't have her collar on her, as she just had a bath. I was devastated and hurt. She was gone for 2 months before I recovered her. I ran ads and posted flyers. The people that had her, called her Mady, they saw my signs, and they chose not to return her to me in spite of seeing my signs. Why? Because she is a small, sweet dog. Please don't be selfish and try to find her rightful owner. In the meantime, keep her safe. because she is dog agressive, I would keep her separate from your other dog. She is probably scared, and in a new enviroment with another dog. She is probably from a single dog home, and she is trying to assert her dominance.

Please don't take this the wrong way, but I am just showing you the other side of the coin, you want to do the admirable thing by giving the dog a new home, but please make sure there isn't a devasted child or person missing their baby. The worst part about losing a pet is you never know. You have no closure, was she hit by a car, did a predatory bird swoop down and kill her, is she getting fed, is she warm? Think about this, how would you feel if your other dog was stolen, or got loose and disappeared off of the face of the earth?

check out the k9 amber group link I listed below. There are several sites available for people to list LOST and FOUND dogs, this is the one I joined and read daily, hopefully someday I may be able to bring joy back into someone's life, the way Marilynn did for me. She is the one that told me who had my dog.

Good luck.

I think you should give priority to the dog which was in your home first.. i know its a shame that this dog was alone and followed you home from the park but i'm sure she has a home of her own and she is missed dearly by her owners.
An option would be to introduce the dogs on neutral ground not in any territory of either dogs because thats when they can feel threatened.. there are sprays around such as training sprays which you can spray if the dogs are doing something wrong so when she attacks your first dog you can spray the spray and she will associate the spray with a bad act.
I hope this helps and good luck with everything. = )

Some breeds like humans but don't like other dogs (they are dog aggressive). It also might have been hurt by a dog in the past. But, you also shouldn't expect too much too quickly. This all must be very new to the poor lost little dog and it will have to get used to things in order to feel safe.

Properly introduce them. Put one in a crate or carrier and llow them to sniff each other through the holes to get the others scent then only allow them physically together for intermittent time frames, getting a little longer each time. This will allow them to get to know each other better. The new dog is probably very nervous and scared in this new house with a new dog and feels intimidated. Don't fret, it should pass. Good for you for keeping the poor doggy. Hopefully you've checked it for a microchip as well. (vets scan for free in case you didn't know)

What you have there is a frighten little dog and its only defense is to bite. In this case I would lay my dog down in a submissive position (on its side) and let the new dog smell my dog. Then I would lay the new dog the same way and let them both lay there till they are both submissive to you. Don't let them get up till they both give in, if you allow them to quit the exercises, you will not achieve a calm state in your home.

According to Cesar Milan, the Dog Whisperer, YOU need to be the leader of the pack and the leader needs to project calm assertiveness or the dogs won't behave. If you project nervousness or high energy they start looking for whoever projects calm and THEY are seen as the leader. If you are going to keep more than one dog you need to be the leader and they will learn to tolerate each other and hopefully become more firiendly. Check out his site:.

You should separate the both of them first...to let them get used to each other's smell....and slowly let them play together...the most it will take for them to get along will be less than a week....this is what I did when I bought my 2nd dog....

You should of introduced them slowly other than that keep them apart but let them see each other for a short period of time and eventually they will get used to each other
