Don't do it at any price. The only Accent that is redeemable is the 05 model year. Engine problems in 00 and 01. Transmission problems from 00 to 04. These are two things you don't want to mess with. Sorry to bear bad news.

Forget what you heard about them being bad cars. People telling you that are probably sold on American made. I bought a new Hyundai in 2007 and I love it. I recommend you have the car checked out by a mechanic that you trust. You should do that with any used car you look at.

My opinion is for you to get a blue book report also on the car to see if the options are worth the price. I would think that the car has high miles and the price seems to be about 1000 to 1500 high. Double check a blue book report with the options. Have the car checked out by a technician for leaks, check the oil and the antifreeze... DON M

My daughter has the exact same car, and she drives it allot. The only problem she had was a burnt exhaust valve, cost $500 to fix. Her car also has a slight oil leak, check the engine out to see if you can see oil on it. Outside of that she loves the car, it's reliable. Best of luck.

2001 seems really iffy, hyundai doesn't have it's foot on the ground yet, ie. nobody likes em. You might not want to test it as it's getting to 88k miles.
