That A very good Question ? I am sure some Variety store owners and gas station attendents on night shift would like to ware them.

I see nothing wrong with that it unfortunate but it part of times we live in, the police may want some control on the use of them and I see nothing wrong with that either, but some of these store keepers I am sure feel like they are in danger every day.

There is one on EBay for pick up in Ohio today, but in my state is illegal for anyone except law enforcement & security personel to own one. Only a criminal needs a bullet proof vest. The average citizen does not get shot at & this comes from someone who had a brother murdered in a store robbery. He went in to buy milk for his children & was killed. I do not wear a bullet proof vest & police do not need the danger of everyone else wearing one.

It is not illegal anywhere in the United States to own body armor. You don't have to be a police officer, or anything else either. If you have the $500 to $800 bucks to spend on one, you have the right to own one. Now if you are in LA, coming out of a Bank of America with one on, and carrying an AK-47, don't be suprised if you make the police a little jumpy. :)

I don't know the answer in Ohio, but it seems to me it should be a universal right to own such a piece of equipment.

Why shouldn't everyone be allowed protection?
