I don't know if I'm wrong or not, but I don't like when people "I know" happen to come over to my house and start taking pictures without asking, don't you find this innapropriate? And, no matter how politely you sort of let them know you aren't pleased with that they get offended, (it happened when I was in another part of the house or busy on the phone, different people have done it) Any advice?

Are you uncomfortable about it because they're taking pictures of the inside or the outside? Maybe they just think you have wonderful decorating sense and that your house is beautiful. Personally I'd be flattered if people wanted to take pictures of my home. But if you don't like it, simply tell them and I'm sure they'd understand. "I'm sorry..I don't mean to be rude, but could you not take pictures? It just makes me a little uncomfortable ^_^;;;;. "

They should ask to take pictures to begin with. It's very unpolite to simply start taking pictures of things, especially things that don't belong to one person or the public as a whole.

Nothing wrong with you; it's them. And if they feel offended, they need to learn to be respectful of others and quit being so selfish.

You have a right to tell people that you don't like them taking pictures of you house. Maybe you interpret their embarrassment as offense though. In that case, you can lightly add after telling them not to," Oh, no problem, except that I am a private person, so please don't." smile and change the subject to diffuse any further discomfort.

Start asking them "what are the pictures for?" in a very non-confrontational way. The conversation starter might help to break the discomfort of eventually telling them that you aren't comfortable, or they might begin to see that you don't like it without you directly telling them.

You must have a very unusual house. I guess that it is rude to do that. I don't know how I would feel. You have a right to feel like you do about it though.

You don't say what it is exactly, that you are trying to hide. But you could try putting a sign on the front door saying, "No photographs allowed without owners approval".

You should not have built such a beautiful house.
Anyway post a discreet sign which says, 'Defence Area, Photography Prohibited'.
