Get the SRT 4 and to the person who said the SRT 4 is made by Mistubushi, you need to do a little research, it is not made by Mitsubushi. Only the turbocharger.

People on here need to get their facts straight first instead of pulling them out of their (you know what)

If you're buying a brand new car you can forget about all of them except the TC and the Mazda 6, cause all the others start at around $19500. But if you're buying a used one its a different story. The fastest of all is theSRT-4 followed by the Cobalt SS, then comes the Civic SI, then the GTI, then the Tiburon, then the sentra ,and then at last the TC and the Mazda are tied. The coolest interior goes to the SI and the TC. The SI is the best in quality but it will also be the most expensive, the TC would be one of the cheapest but it also is a slowpoke. The SRT-4 is freaken fast but lacks the quality of the SI. The SS is good looking and fast but it won't be the one of the cheapest one. The Sentra its a pretty cool car low mantenience and fun to drive. The Tiburon its a very good looker but its very problematic but its one of the the only two to offer a V6. The Mazda its good quality an cool even cooler if you get the V6. And last but not least the GTI its fun and good looking but its very high mantenience the parts for that car cost a lot. The're all pretty cool cars but if you ask me I would buy the Civic SI good looking car plus thers a lot of aftermarket parts that you can buy, and there not that expensive.

Quicker can be tricky, because if a car is quick but not reliable then who cares. Classy is a matter of taste and is subjective.
Better I can address. Run away from any American car company. Doesn't matter if it's actually made in Japan or not. Example the Dodge Neon is made by Mitsubishi and it is crap. This leaves Hyundai, Honda, and Nissan. Hyundai has improved but I would like to see a few more years of steady quality before considering them. Nissan is hit and miss. The Sentra is their worst model so bye bye Nissan.
That leaves Honda. Rock solid reliability etc.
OK there you go, your welcome!

What will be the primary purpose of the car? If you will be using it for racing..I might say Honda or Volkswagon, but any car that you hammer on will break faster. I see that you are talking about quick and class. Better for you to look at durability because you dont want one that you are still making payments on that is broken down/broke. I would not recommend the Neon. Don M

Here goes.......I REALLY ashamed to advise you NOT to purchase the "Neon or the Cobalt". I know some friends that owned neons ---not mechanically sound. I just rented a cobalt anDDDDDDDDD I am not sure. Yet DO look at the japanese cars !!!!!!!! Yipeeeeeeeeeee !! They DO KNOW how to manufacture a car. The Toyota corolla IS an excellent auto amongst others.

none of those are sports cars.

if you want a sports car that can go in a straight line fast (not my thing, but chances are its yours), go buy an LS1 camaro or firebird, and mod that a bit. while nolt my favorite cars, you cant deny their power to dollar ratio is just through the roof.
