My friend Janessa gets really nervous and embarrassed around boys. She says her heart starts pounding and she gets butterflys and shivery. I feel really bad for her cuz I can't help her with it. I mean its not like I've never gotten butterflys. I just am more confident around the opposite sex. I mean I'm a model so I think that helps with calming my self and stuff. So Her question is How do you guys calm your self when your talking to the oposite sex?

Oh and she said her voice gets scared sounding... I don't know... maybe someone can help her out with this. She really wants to talk to this boy but is just to scared... So thanks....

I'm sorry if you feel that I was bragging, I just thought ppl would wonder why I didn't try and help her myself. I just don't understand what makes her so self concious around boys.

And I'm also sorry if you think this person is really me. Its not its my friend... Just to clear stuff up

Sounds like she's insecure about something that keeps her a nervous wreck around guys she likes. Until she deals with the problems in herself she will not have the willpower to talk to guys without fear of rejection.

A lot of guys are the same way. Being painfully shy can be debilitating and problematic in life. Being in a group situation can help as the pressure is lessened. If this is bad enough that it is causing problems in her life, there are types of therapies that are very successful at treating this. If you are in a large enoug city it can be free and in a group setting. Call a public mental health center and ask about this. Its nothing to be embarrassed about. Once treated by caring people you will wonder why you were ever shy. Good luck.

Calm myself? I don't think that really happens, you just have to be confident and sure of yourself. There is always a little nervousness, even when you know what the answer will be. She just needs to become a little more self-confident and maybe try to talk and hang out with people of the opposite sex more.

Hm, I'm sure most of us go through that at some point of our life. Some wait til the guys do the asking first but it's better to do it yourself to speed up the process. She can try asking simple things like permission to borrow a pen so she would get used to being around that particular person or even better start greeting him, so the guy would feel comfortable talking to her too and even becoming her friend.

First of all, it sounds like you are bragging about being a model. If you are.
Second, if you are nervous about something just say it, don't pretend that you have a friend with the problem.
