I'd have to know if it is regular or sporadic. Some people eat more when they are anxious or upset. Others eat a lot when their blood sugar gets low and they may not know it. If it is done regularly, it could be a disorder.

Yes, binge eating is considered an eating disorder. If you think you have it, see your doctor, who should refer you to a psychiatrist. They should set you up with therapy to help you learn to cope with stress without overeating, and maybe some medication, but not necessarily. If your doc brushes you off, try a mental health walk-in clinic or whatever service is available in your area.
