it can happen that people die of too much sorrow, or sometimes of too much happiness. The heart simply bursts; it cannot bear that excess of feeling - good or bad. But to hear of someone dying of too much happiness and sorrow at the same time is quite unusual. Giving, and not only receiving, is the best medicine for the human heart

You can die from to much sorrow but that is a slow killer. Stress and anxiety break the body down and raise the risks for serious health problems, like cancer and heart disease.

Well you can't do ANYTHING with the mind, but you can definetly do some amazing things with it. The answer to your question is yes, there is the "broken heart syndrome", just like the first poster said.
Build up stress, negative energy, negative feelings and negative emotions can also help a human being to develop health disorders. In essense, your emotional and thought process' can help you to develop cancer, but you can also 'outthink' cancer as well(so to speak).

They can. Stress, fear, sorrow, depression. Take your pick. They all can affect everyone differently. And if you don't have enough positive energy; you can give your spirit up and die.

Well, there's a point by which a person gets so sad that the brain gives up on life, and the person just...well, dies. The body just shuts itself down. It's like leaving a business, closing it because you are so sad.
