if a guy keeps telling you that he has nothing to do over the weekend. is he trying to tell me something like he wants to hang out or whatever. we both like eachother a lot. but aren't going out or anything.

he told me this last week too and he was talking about wanting to see a movie, he didn't say with who tho.

Ah, this is so cute.
He's obviously trying to hint at you that he'd like to hang out. If he says that he's got nothing to do for the weekend, you should mention whether or not you're doing anything. And since you said he keeps mentioning it, he might just come out and say that he likes you one of these days. Being oblivious can tax another person. But, you're obviously not that oblivious.
Do you want to go out with him? Or are you scared to? If you want to go out with him, I think all you have to do is say the word and he'd jump for it. But if you don't feel you're ready for the relationship, then wait until you feel you're comfortable; until then, keep up some casual flirting to keep him interested, though it sounds like you wouldn't have to do anything to keep him interested. If you're not attracted to the guy, then keep things status quo unless it bothers you. If he starts to become annoying by constantly asking you out, you should tell him straight that you don't want to and not lead him on.
Really, you already know the answer to your own question, and should just carry it out. Be brave and follow what your own heart tells you to do.

It sounds like your friend wants to go out with you and get to know you better but is afraid of being rejected if he asks.
Take a chance and tell him that you would like to have him over to watch a movie or take a walk or go to a museum. It could really make a difference for him and break the ice.

The next time he tells you he has nothing to do over the weekend, ask him if he would like to hang out. If he says no than he is just a complainer, if he says yes, then there it is!

Going to the movies is safe.. but dont do it at ur house or his thats inviting him to try somethin.
If he asks again say ud luv to go catch a movie an make sure u sound enthuisiastic.. oh an dont go an invite any of ur friends.

i think he's trying to ask you out, but attempting to play it cool. My boyfriend first asked me out by bringing up that he had a gift card to Red Lobster. At first i thought maybe he was really desperate and couldn't find anyone else to take because he tried to be so casual about it; plus we barely knew each other. But i ended up finding out later that he's actually been wanting to ask me out FOREVER and was basically waiting for a good "excuse" to do so. I think guys just like to be cool about those things because it makes them feel less stupid if they get turned down, since they make you think it's no big deal,anyway. But it usually is.

it's hard to ask for a date and face possible rejection, so next time say "i don't have anything to do either, so if you want, give me a call and we can do something together."
it is low key and it isn't like you are asking him for a date either.
