That can be true. What exactly are you asking? Do you want to know if you HAVE to be pretty for a guy to come up to you? Well, as I said, sometimes that can be the case, but those relationships don't last. The ones that are going to mean more in the long run are the ones where a guy & girl meet & actually get to know each other & it's not totally based on how they look. I don't think that's a good way to start out a relationship~

Yes, physically appearance is important when you are first trying to find someone. A guy may be more likely to initial approach you if you seem attractive to him.
With that said, everyone definition of "pretty" is different. In addition, physical appearance isn't necessarily always a defining factor for wheter or not a guy will go out with you. You maybe friends with someone first, and then your friendship and personality becomes the deciding factor for moving to the next step.
However, when one is young physical appearance does play a major role.

No, only shallow guys put beauty first, or if all they want is to get laid. But looking pretty does help, it's an instinct to seek out the most attractive, and therefore supposedly healthy, person. If you're beautiful, you will have to wade through a sea of useless shallow assholes, but if you're plain or ugly, only the best guys will be interested, because they are attracted by personality.

Actually, I have a friend who is stunning. Seriously she is gorgeous, and guys don't tend to approach her too often, or at least not as often as the other girls. . I think one reason is she appears to be snobby. It isn't that she is snobby, she is actually just really shy and not good around men at all. It isn't like a major curse, she doesn't cry over it, but she has complained about it during the times she is single.

I think the older I get, the beauty thing is meaningless. I love a woman that is alive and can think. Age does not mean anything either. It is all about life and lust.

it's always extra nice to look good around a guy, but not too far out. Don't go overboard. Also remember dating is about care and common interest, not just looks.

Yes, I am a man and I am shallow. That is why I will not look at ugly women. Or at least if I look at them, I turn away quickly so they won't see that I saw them, because my friends will think I was looking at an ugly woman and they will think less of me. My male freinds are shallow too and I think less of them when I see them looking at ugly women.

I don't know how guys feel, but when I spend more time than usual doing my hair or makeup, I feel more pretty. Therefore I'm more confident and more likely to meet men.
