look up a program called DVD shrink for PC or Toast for MAC. Both will compress the movie just enough to fit on a standard DVD+-R.

Video compression have some consequences,
+ Smaller file zise
- Quality

For example:
AVI files is good, but it 12GB per Hour!
MPEG files is ok, 700MB per Hour.

You can convert the files with some video editing program that lets you choose what format will be created.

Burner like Nero will automatically convert -for example- AVI files to MPEG ( If you ask ) so you will get smaller file and you can save it on CD and can be played on most VCD players.

DVD usually app. 4.7 GB in zise, thats much better than VCD. If you use Nero, Choose Make DVD movie then pick files you want. If it still said that 'your files is too big....' or something, that means your file is too big to convert to your DVD disc.
