About 12 pounds of C4. That will put plenty of boom in your car homeboy.

vehicle year, make and model would be helpful. It also depends on where you are located. If you are near Los Angeles, i would suggest driving to downtown LA, and getting your music from the electronic district. everything is wholesale, and u can get it installed for cheap. You can have a loud booming car, but it can also sound like Sh*t, if you don't upgrade everything. If you purchase on ebay or wholesale, your looking at spending a little over $600.00. Do your research first online, by using websites like www.crutchfield.com, or my favorite www.sounddomain.com or www.cardomain.com. On sound domain, you can search for other owners who has the same vehicle year and model as yourself. Checkout what they have in their rides. It will give u an idea of which way you wanna go with ur system. You will need to upgrade the following. The car stereo head unit. This controls your whole sound output. Stick with (alpine, kenwood, clarion pro audio, eclipse). Get a head unit that has a 7 or 9 band equalizer and a subwoofer level control. It will run you anywhere from $125.00-$200.00. Next upgrade your inside speakers. These i suggest buying new off ebay. You can get some good quality, powerful speakers for around $30.00 a pair. Stick with (pioneer, kenwood, phoenix gold, alpine, infinity). Next are your subs and amps. If you are on a budget, you can get a 5 channel amp. with this you can power all 4 of the inside speakers and the sub. You could get a single 10" or 12" subwoofer. if you want more power you can get 2 amplifiers. A 4 channel for the front and a 2 channel for the subwoofers. There are alot of brands of amps that will do. In amps you get what u pay for but there are some quality cheap amps out there (profile, sony, clarion). In subs you don't need 12" woofers. A pair of 10" will do. In subs i like (phoenix gold xenon $50.00 a piece on ebay). Then you will need all your wires which will cost about $50.00.
If you get it installed by a friend it will cost up to $100.00. If you have a shop do it, they will charge you atleast over $200.00. The main thing is search for good prices. Don't be afraid to visit stores often before buying. Walmart and target has some nice stuff thats a little inexpensive.

well it depends on what kind of car you have and what kind of stereo is built in. Most modern cars have stereo's with built in amps. An Amp gives you speakers the boost in power so that when you hit the volume control the sounds quality is maintained. If not you should start with a good stereo deck. This should be your first upgrade. After that you can install two speakers call 6 x 9's. these are two speaker in one and generally pump out about 120 watts of power. All in all you can go to a electronics store and pay around $300 Canadian or $200 US dollar and get a sound system that allows you to pump a little.
If you want to know more go talk to a professional

Honestly considering your trunk space and spending limit I would go with (1) Memphis audio 15 and a 400watt amp. You can go cheap on the amp because the speaker will be expensive enough. Dyna mat or a equivalent you can get this pretty cheap at your local walmart more than likely it works the same as the more expensive name brand stuff. And a 80-100 dollar Pioneer/JVC or even a Panasonic off of EBay Go New not used.

Don't go with inexpensive junk. If you are going to do it, do it right the first time. Get yourself a good deck that has good power to it. I have a pioneer that has a 60x4 output for mids, it has rca outputs just for subwoofer amps and more. It has several settings on it for controlling the output & bass levels for the subs. This deck or one like it runs about $150.
For subs, it depends on what type of car you have. A good plexi-glass sealed box works great for hatchbacks and sedans. Usually 2 10" subs, or even 1 12" sub works pretty well. Go name brand, maybe Rockford Fausgate or JL Audio. I have 2 10" JL Audio W-6's. Mine isn't a plexi-glass box, but it is a sealed port box.
For an amp, it depends on what subs you get. You want to have enough power to make it hit good. I have an MTX Thunder 425 watt amp. Definatly enough wattage to power my two 10" subs and then some. Serious amount of bass. You can hear it coming nearly two blocks from my house.
Entire cost of my set up was only about $800 new.

go with kicker speakers and a sub.. if u dont want too loud go with a cvr or a L5 subwoofer.. they pound but are lower on the ladder than some of kickers other hard hittin subs.. .. u will also need an amp.. check out this system here..... 1 or 2, 12 in L5's.. a zx 750 amp will work for 1 or both those subs.... u will need a amp hookup kit.... try that out.. u wont be disappointed... write back if u have other questions and keep in mind this is all KICKER products.. stay with kicker..

it will be various issues. you would no longer have the settings on the radio tuned correct. you would want an EQ. there are various issues that bypass into making a stereo sound strong or bump. human beings dont comprehend that. that amp you've would no longer be correct for those subs. and merely because you had the radio professionally put in doesnt mean some thing. we set up all of our own stuff, and win sound competitions. or you would have blown voice coil or somehting on your subs.

The answer is yes you will need an amp if you want BOOM.. depeneding on your cars size, 2 10" subs with a 600watt amp is more than plenty. youll want dynomat lined in your trunk or car depending where you deside is best for your Subs to prevent that Sheitty rattle sound. also make sure your stereo has some Pre outs or sub-out if yours is stock then it more then likely not. also you can go to http://www.crutchfield.com/ to see wut will fit your car and for other information.

this woofer my friend would be a steal. it retails for $400, and is the cleanest clearest sub i have ever heard. and i've heard a lot of subs. it'll blow anything from best buy or circut city as far as loud, and it will sound 2x as good.
good luck
