Okay, it sounds like the two of you have a few serious issues to discuss. First of all, you were completely right to call 911, you were under the impression that your girlfriend had harmed herself and you were trying to help her!!! There is absolutely nothing wrong with what you did! Your girlfriend seems to lack skills in the honesty department, and this could create some definite trust issues for the two of you in the future. I don't know if I would go as far as to break up with her right away. The two of you should sit down and talk like civilized adults and try to resolve the entire ordeal in some way, and then you should make your decision. Good luck!!!

Yes.
Dating someone with mental health issues can be stressful, but it is important to be supportive and let her know you care. You need to set boundaries, however. I do think it is in the best interest for both of you to stop seeing eachother. She is clearly hurting and wants your attention. She's probably ashamed too and wants to hurt you before you hurt her. But she is suffering and is most likely incapable of making the right decisions. Don't leave her while you're fighting or she's crying. Just talk to her (sometimes writing a letter is easier than a confrontation) and tell her you're worried about her, but you also feel that your trust has been broken. Just be honest, but not accusatory. You can't save someone who doesn't want to be saved. It's a bit harsh, but it's true. Sometimes you have to protect yourself.

if you cant sit down and talk it out you are in trouble anyway --- so either resolve your issues or call it a day

Maybe you two need some space.
