I had my ears irrogated once and they put peroxide in there, can I do that to clean them? Can peroxide cure ear infection, is it true or a rumor?

i would say true, i do it to my moms ears, and they bubble like crazy when there is an infection, but i don't recommend doing it on your own, perhaps your mom or a friend can help

There are several substances that help soften wax that has hardened inside the ear. They should not be used if you have an active ear infection or a perforated eardrum (a hole in the ear) or if you have had surgery on the ear. Commercial eardrops, hydrogen peroxide, baby oil and mineral oil are safe.

One caution about hydrogen peroxide specifically: Hydrogen peroxide turns into water in the ear after the oxygen bubbles off. This leaves the ear canal moist, which can allow growth of bacteria. By gently rinsing the canal with rubbing alcohol, the water will be displaced and promote drying. If you develop pain, stop immediately; you may have an unrecognized perforated eardrum.

here are my sources:

Hydrogen peroxide is recommended as one of several effective ear cleaners when you have wax build up. But, I wouldn't expect it to cure an infection. While hydrogen peroxide is a good basic germ killer and great for cleaning out a bad cut, you should go to a doctor for the proper treatment of an ear infection.

Peroxide does not kill germs. It foams and help loosen but really does no more then soap and water.

you can clean your ears, dabbing a cotton ball or a Q-tip in peroxide.

but i wouldn’t douse your ears with it, especially if you have an infection.

use stridex or alcohol wipes to clean gently inside your ear.

it will only cause damage if it is too concentrated... regular store peroxide should be safe

It is ok as long as your eardrums are not perforated and you don't have tubes in
