If your only income is tax exempt SSI and/or disability then there is nothing to refund. You must have had taxes withheld to get anything refunded and you must have earned income to qualify for the Earned Income Tax Credit.

So if your only income is SSI you do not need to file a return and you get no refund or owe any tax.

SSI isn't taxable. Some disability pay isn't either. If you have taxable disability payments, you can and may be required to file a return, and your disability pay might be considered earned income for purposes of getting the EIC.

Not usually.SSI and disability aren't taxable income. If you didn't pay taxes on it,then you can't claim a refund. You have to have at least $1.00 of taxable income to qualify for any type of refund.

You have to file the tax forms. If they have deducted more, you can request a refund.
