The floor is concrete, I think, and it is grey and the support beams are metal and also grey.
Can I use the same type of paint for both, or not?
What kind of paint should I use - and if I need primer - when I want to paint everything white?

you need concrete paint for the floor and metal paint for the beams. if the existing paint is in good shape, you shouldnt need to prime. A thorough washing and rinsing is very necessary before painting.
PS: I dont advise using white paint on the floor, it will soon looked dingy and scuffed. go with a pale dove grey instead. White would be a good choice for the beams.

the first thing to do is clean the concrete with a mild cleaner such as citrus cleaner. use something stronger on any oil or grease spots on the floor. i would recommend using 2 part epoxy as opposed to paint as its much more durable but also more expensive. if you are going to use paint first use a concrete primer/sealer that is compatible with the paint you are going to use. paint store can show you which primer/sealers and paints work well together. you may or may not need to primer the posts. depends on what shape the existing paint is in. also if you decide to use epoxy on the floor, you can have the paint for posts tinted to match so they are the same color.

Epoxies are the ultimate, through fact they don't dry, they treatment. the two chemical substances in epoxy are a coloring/coating and a hardening agent. The chemical reaction between the two instruments up the epoxy like a sturdy action picture of plastic. So, in assessment to paint, it won't chip or peel aside. additionally, in case you prepare the floor of the concrete wisely, the epoxy seeps into the pores in the concrete and makes an eternal bond that cannot be peeled up from the concrete. based on the quantity of harm (like no count if or not you're rolling heavy shop equipment over the floor), an epoxy-lined concrete floor could final an entire life.
