In your opinion, which supermarket is best? I'm in Toronto and haven't seen many really good ones. Galleria and T&T are interesting, Loblaws is ok, and I heard Pusateri's is really good, but I've never been. I was impressed with the Gima supermarket chain in Turkey!

Berkeley Bowl in Berkeley, CA has the best (& best prices) fresh produce dept I've ever seen. Nothing even compares to their selection and variety. If you're ever in NoCal it's worth a visit.

I have worked in a number of cites around the states and the market that has the biggest wow factor is Dean and Deluca in New York City. Of course there are Fox and Obel in Chciago & Balducci's in New York as runner's up. None of these are chains but as a market they are un-paralelled

Go over the bridge at Niagara and find a Wegmans grocery store in New York state. there is one in Niagara Falls and several in the Buffalo area. Headquarter of this great store is in Rochester, N.Y.

For a chain store I like Albertsons for its selections and deli/market. When I am in Georgia I always stop by a Lowe's grocery store to check out all the things I don't have in my area (Southern Mississippi) the grocery stores here are pathetic and cater more to certain demographics. I have to go on-line to finish my grocery shopping - You cant find unsweetened coconut or walnut flour or tahini in any market here

Fred Meyer west coast it's the best, it's like a high end Wal-Mart except I think they were around before the Wal-Mart explosion. Damn I miss that store!!

If in Toronto try Sobey's...they are every where...or Longo's has great meat
