Yes! Stealing is a sin no matter how you look at it. In most churches, if you need a ride to church someone from the church will come pick you up. No need to go stealing a car.

You're "wondering" if it's a sin or not?
People like you never understands until it happens to you.
So what if I steal your car so I can get to the church?
Are you going to call that a sin? Or are you still going to wonder if the person did something wrong or not?

First of all if you NEED to steal a car to go to church that in itself claims kleptomanic tendencies. That's an illness, not an intention. We are not accountable for suffering from an illness. If you WANT to steal a car to go to church, then that's a whole different story. Want shows desire...desire shows predetermination....predetermination shows planning. If you PLAN to steal a car and follow through with it...I'll send you a cake with a file in it...because that shows a NEED to have your morals examined closely. Perhaps going to church would help.

No, but it is a sin to steal a car to drive to shul on Shabbos.

What is all this intolerance for thieves? Maybe they were born that way - they can't help it. you all suffer from thiefophobia, and need to be re-educated. Off to rehab, the bunch of you. shoo!

Yep...God doesn't care if people go to church. I'm pretty sure he frowns upon stealing cars though.

Plus, by using God as your excuse to steal a car, you are in effect using the Lord's name in vain, and thus breaking a commandment.

stealing is stealing, the bible does not make exemptions on this, it is condemned by Jehovah God (1 Corinthians 6:10)

Thief is definitely a sin.
Purpose cannot justify the means. Bad means and bad purpose are equally bad.
